# Tokenomics

> Supply, distribution, vesting, and utility for $DNA, the unit of account in the xDNA Labs protocol economy.

\$DNA is the unit of account for the xDNA Labs protocol. It is used for operator incentives, governance, and value flow through the network. The token is not a security claim on the project, not a deposit redeemable for a service, and not a storage guarantee. It is what gives holders a defined role in the system and a defined claim on its economy.

The total supply is fixed. There is no inflation mechanism after the emissions schedule completes. Burns reduce circulating supply but do not change total supply the contract tracks the burned balance separately.

Each allocation is held in an identifiable address or contract. Holdings are auditable on-chain. The address registry is published at launch.

Vesting is enforced by contracts, not written commitments. Schedules are fixed at deployment and not modifiable.

These are ceilings computed from the vesting schedule. Actual circulating supply is typically lower community programs running below cap, ecosystem grants vesting at varying rates, treasury draws below schedule maximum. It cannot be higher.

## Utility

### Access Tiers

Holding a defined amount of \$DNA unlocks tiers of access to xDNA Labs protocol features and infrastructure.

Tier eligibility is computed from the on-chain balance held continuously over a defined window (placeholder: 30 days). Sales reset the window.

### Staking

\$DNA can be staked to support specific roles in the network.

Staking rewards are paid from the ecosystem allocation according to the schedule documented per role.

### Governance

Validators vote on proposals affecting the treasury, the ecosystem program, and protocol-level economic parameters.

Proposals require a quorum of validator stake. Quorum and approval thresholds are placeholder until publication.

  The protocol's core technical architecture encoding schemes, chemistry
  parameters, and sequencing standards is not governed by token vote. Token
  governance is over the economy, not the scientific and technical
  infrastructure.

### Fee Flow

Where fees exist in the system, they flow through three sinks:

Placeholder split: **50% burn, 35% operator, 15% treasury.** The on-chain configuration is the source of truth.

## What \$DNA Is Not

* **A security claim.** \$DNA is not a share in the project, not a debt instrument, and does not entitle holders to revenue.
* **A deposit.** Holding \$DNA does not store value redeemable from the project. Its value is what it does in the system, not what it can be exchanged for at the project.
* **A storage guarantee.** Data permanence is enforced by the protocol architecture and operator economics, not by token holdings. Holding more \$DNA does not increase the durability properties of a given archive.
